The U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-C) is an Ambassador class starship, and the third to bear the name “Enterprise”. It was instrumental in saving Narendra III and averting a war between the Klingons and the Federation, as recounted in one of the best TNG episodes, “Yesterday’s Enterprise“. During that incident, the Enterprise-C entered a temporal rift in 2344 into an alternate future of 2366 where the Federation was at war with the Klingons, and it took the efforts of the alternate Enterprise-D to help the Enterprise-C return to its rightful time. The Enterprise-C was under the command of Captain Rachel Garrett, who died during the incident. There were repercussions of that event, however, as an alternate Tasha Yar returned to the past aboard the Enterprise-C, causing changes in the timeline (such as her daughter, Sela).
The beta canon has a few conflicting records of when Captain Garrett commanded the Enterprise-C, only that she has been the only captain of the ship. It is believed that the ship was commissioned in 2332, but the Ambassador-class is listed as entering service in 2335 in the Command Division sourcebook. One source indicated 2340 as the start of Garrett’s command.
I give the 2335 version of the Enterprise-C here, and leave it up to you to decide if its launch date and/or the period of its captaincy under Garrett is relevant. The Enterprise-C would be an interesting choice if you are going with an era between the TOS movies and The Next Generation.
I include here a version created through the official Modiphius app.
Featured Starship articles spotlight established starships that you can use as a ship for players for immediate play (such as for a demo or convention game), or as an NPC ship in your campaign. Some are a natural fit with characters from the Featured Crew articles. Only Core Rulebook rules will be used (with perhaps a few special exceptions, such as the spaceframes from the Command Division supplement).
