I think we were all awed by the fearsome artwork on page 151 of the Star Trek Adventures first edition Core Rulebook when it came out. What kind of monster was that poor runabout trying to tussle with? I know that we defined that scene in my group’s campaign. But you may be looking to really terrify your team. Well, here is my write up on that fearsome beast, the Cosdragon adapted for STA 2e.
COSDRAGON
Akin to the fantasy monsters of ancient Earth folklore, the Cosdragon is one of the most fearsome space-traveling creatures to terrorize any galaxy. Warp-capable, this winged beast can consume both flesh and electromagnetism, devastating and depowering a large vessel with relative ease. It can also use electromagnetic pulses to disrupt sensors and communications. Boasting dilithium-charged organs and a deuterium-based circulatory system, these armored monsters have been captured and modified by various species, who use them as formidable spaceborne war dogs that mercilessly ravage ships.
