Perhaps one of the most underrated science fiction shows ever in my opinion was Stargate Atlantis. A victim of the ever shifting mindset of the Syfy channel, Stargate Atlantins was ended before many of their arcs were completed. Perhaps the most fascinating species in the show to me was the Wraith.

I’ve always been fascinated with biotechnology in my science fiction (species 8472 is my jam), and the Wraith scratch part of this itch for me. An entire species that goes into hibernation after consuming bioelectric energy is a fascinating concept and their hive mentality seems to ease the Wraith right into Star Trek as a fantastic antagonist and deeply interesting PCs.

  1. I like this as a (quasi)extra-galactic threat, like the Kelvan . Like a big hive ship(s) arrive in the AQ and Starfleet tracks their course coming the Large/Small Magellan Cloud. The wraith have sent out hive ships to their primary galaxy and other companion galaxies looking for fresh hunting grounds.

I wrote my first adventure for my party as crossover of ST and SG:Atlantis, this is awesome material to use. Thanks a LOT!
