My name is Lee Brimmicombe-Wood. My background is that I am an illustrator, writer, and game designer. I am the author of the ‘Aliens Colonial Marines Technical Manual’.

I am a 30-year veteran of the software games industry and have been a designer on titles including: ‘Warhammer 40K: Fire Warrior’, ‘Far Cry 3’, ‘Killzone: Mercenary’, ‘Dark Pictures: House of Ashes’ and many more. My most recent title was ‘Classified: France ’44’.

I am also a designer of historical board wargames, including ‘Downtown: Air War Over Hanoi, 1965-1972’, ‘The Burning Blue: The Battle of Britain, 1940’, ‘Bomber Command: The Night Raids’, and the multi-volume ‘Wing Leader’ series. I have recently contributed to the ‘Air & Armor’ modern combat series.

I began watching Star Trek in 1969 and started roleplaying Trek 40 years ago, albeit with another game system. I am an enormous Trek fan who is in the process of putting my first STA roleplay group together.

  1. I like this addition. More examples of all the new stuff is very helpful. I particularly like “The ship which wouldn’t die”, which can really help avoid a total party kill but keep the tension extreme while not making it look like you are going easy on the players. The Bismarck from my “Steal the Bismarck” adventure definitely had that service record.

  2. Are those ships a throwback to QUARK, the NBC show in 1977?! 🙂

    1. I actually don’t know. Looked for “garbage scow” on the web and that is what I found.
