The U.S.S. Atlas (NCC-80109) is the players’ starship in my 2e mini-campaign, which just started. I thought I’d share the stats so that you may use it in your own campaign. Please feel free to tweak its background, stats, and crew as fits your vision. We will likely use this ship as one of the sample ships for our site.

The Atlas is a Luna-class (featured in the STA 2e Game Toolkit), with the Multirole Explorer Mission Profile. The free Systems Improvement chosen is Computers. The Mission Pod currently installed is a Warp Propulsion Pod. As the series is set in 2381, ships of that era have as a default the EMH Mark IV. The Service Record is Top of the Line, which is from our recent article, New Service Records, 2E. The feature taken is a Captain’s Yacht, installed on the bottom of the saucer section. For our campaign the Captain’s Yacht is the U.S.S. Mistral, a Mistral class shuttlecraft close to Captain Kazan’s heart. (The 2E stats of the U.S.S. Mistral follow below.)

Although the Luna-class was launched in 2375, the U.S.S. Atlas is a brand new ship just out of Utopia Planitia in 2381, even though its registry number (NCC-80109) may suggest it was one of the first of its class launched. In reality, an Admiral had requested that this ship name and registry number be held in reserve until the Atlas could be launched with further top-of-the-line modifications. Some suspect that the Department of Temporal Investigations had a hand in this delay, but it’s likely only a rumour…or is it?

The U.S.S. Atlas is now assigned to Captain Thomas Kazan, for whom this is his second command. His previous ship, the U.S.S. Endeavour (NCC-81977), was also a Luna class. The Atlas is tasked to explore the Taurus Reach.

Update: corrected Phaser Arrays damage.

The Captain’s Yacht is the U.S.S. Mistral. You can use the standard Captain’s Yacht stats on page 235. Alternatively, you can use the homebrew 2e stats for the Mistral class below. The U.S.S. Mistral is in fact the original prototype that Kazan and Li designed, but upgraded. It has its own specialized berth in the saucer section where the Captain’s Yacht is normally housed, therefore not requiring Extensive Shuttlebays, and the Atlas is fully-equipped to switch out the U.S.S. Mistral‘s Customizable Modules without needing to visit a starbase.

For the Bridge, we are using the brilliant render from the Stellar Cartographer for the U.S.S. Titan as seen on Lower Decks.
