Here is another 2E Canon Event Milestone!
These are events and repercussions in the established timeline that affect your crew. This often is an improvement or other change that affects your game during specific periods of time (or other timelines or alternate realities your campaign may end up in). You can activate these for use if you are in that timeframe.
One major change is that Canon Event (CE) Milestones have 3 components:
- Traits active during the CE; usually 3, and they are invoked when relevant
- Complication Range indicates what conditions result in a Complication Range increase
- Reconfigurations are special rules active for that period.
We will be updating past Timeline Milestones into Canon Event Milestones as well as adding new Canon Event Milestones.
Based on the events of Star Trek Generations where the Federation flagship, the Enterprise-D, was destroyed on Veridian III while trying to stop Dr. Soran. Between 48632.4 (the date of the battle) and 49827.5 (the launch of the Enterprise-E), Starfleet Command decides to temporarily deploy the crew of the Enterprise-D to other starships and starbases until a decision has been made regarding the replacement of the flagship, in part to gain experience under a new commanding officer.
Canon Event Milestone: Flagship Lost (July-December 2371-2372)
Traits:
- (Department) team leader with flagship experience
- low morale from flagship’s loss
- shipboard gossip
Complication Range: +1 whenever former enemies of the Enterprise-D are involved, as past tensions come to the fore. (Gamemaster’s choice if this applies, but players may suggest its use.)
Reconfigurations: Once per Canon Event, gain an established or newly-created Supporting Character reassigned from the Enterprise-D. You must choose a Department. Activation of this character does not require the use of Crew Support. While this Supporting Character remains on-board and able to perform their duties, the Trait (Department) team leader with flagship experience is active. This character leaves when the Enterprise-E is operational.
