Welcome to Starship Sunday, presenting a new spaceframe for the Star Trek Adventures roleplaying game, filling in some gaps until official material can be released.
We’re going “back” to the 23rd Century in October, providing some alternative ships to command alongside the U.S.S. Enterprise of The Original Series. This week is the second ship pulled from Star Trek Online, the Perseus-class. (If only because finding nice images of the ships is easy.)
As an escort, the Perseus-class is comparable in size to the NX-01 Enterprise and the U.S.S. Defiant, being a small and maneuverable vessel. It servers a similar purpose in the fleet, and should appeal to players who want a smaller more personal ship with fewer crew. It also allows for campaigns in TOS era that feel very different, with a ship that isn’t boldly going into the unknown, but sticking to the heart of the Federation or rushing to the front-lines of minor military conflicts.
