The U.S.S. Deucalion (NX-91818) is an example of a Frankenstein Fleet ship. The rules for Frankenstein Fleet ships were introduced in the Gamma Quadrant sourcebook. The idea is that after Wolf 359, Starfleet needed more ships, fast. They spliced together ‘Frankenstein’ ships from surviving parts of their starships, to rapidly increase their fleet. These tend to look very unusual (to say the least), but you work with what you have at hand.
The Deucalion has its origins in my campaign, Star Trek: Sojourner. Our Chief Engineer had been in temporary command of the U.S.S. Venture during a tense finale, and though the saucer section of the Galaxy-class was saved, the drive section blew up. It is now a subplot of his to make the saucer section fly again. After we played through some options, he took an Ambassador-class drive and installed four nacelles. The Deucalion is named after a Greek mythological figure, but it is also the name of Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein monster.
Feel free to use this ship as part of your fleet operations after mid-2372. In your campaign it doesn’t have to be the Venture‘s saucer, but any surviving Galaxy-class saucer section.

Here are some 3D images of what the U.S.S. Deucalion would look like. It’s a mash-up of the beautifully detailed SketchUp models designed by T.E. Williams, specifically his U.S.S. Atlantic saucer, his Enterprise-C model, and the pylons were scaled modifications of his Olympic-class model.
Featured Starship articles spotlight established starships that you can use as a ship for players for immediate play (such as for a demo or convention game), or as an NPC ship in your campaign. Some are a natural fit with characters from the Featured Crew articles. Only Core Rulebook rules will be used (with perhaps a few special exceptions, such as the spaceframes from the Command Division supplement).

Impressive. You built a unique vessel for STA! I didn’t do quite so much with my Nova Class. Twilight is the standard Nova, with advanced and high-resolution sensors, plus advanced sickbay advantage. And oh yes…the same interphase cloak that had been on the Pegasus. (We needed it to make it through Romulan space to get to Romulus and save the empress from Sela and her bioweapon.) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/794674296755556371/
