Antares Ship Yard – Fortune, Aegian, Resolution, & Premonition

My project on Wednesday evenings is to stat custom spaceframes based on viewer submissions/requests using the new ship-building rules in Utopia Planitia. The next four I’ve decided to tackle are the Fortune, Aegian, Resolution, and Premonition classes.

The Fortune-class was designed by Jeffery K. to be a versatile spaceframe able to fill the role of “26th Century Excelsior” in Starfleet’s bag of tricks. The battlecruiser features a whole slew of cool features such as a Variable Geometry Warp Drive, ECM suites, and consoles that won’t explode and shower redshirts with regulation-sized rocks whenever the ship gets hit. Overall it’s a versatile spaceframe that’s perfect for use around 2501 and beyond!

SCALE: 7

WEAPONS:

  • Phaser Banks
  • Phaser Cannons
  • Photon Torpedoes
  • Quantum Torpedoes

TALENTS:

  • Regenerative Hull (UP p. 90)
  • Improved Warp Drive
  • Rapid-Fire Torpedo Launcher
  • Electronic Warfare Systems
  • Point Defense System (UP p. 90)

You can learn more about the Fortune-class by reading Jeff’s notes here.

The Aegian-class made its debut in Star Trek Armada 2, an RTS video game made in 2001 (Now available on GOG!). The ship’s main selling point was the ability to boost the shields of allied vessels, making them a crucial force multiplier in fleet combat.

SCALE: 4

SYSTEMS:

Comms – 10Engines – 10Structure – 09
Computers – 10Sensors – 09Weapons – 09

DEPARTMENTS:

Command – 01Security – 01Science – 00
Conn – 00Engineering – 01Medicine – 00

WEAPONS:

  • Phaser Arrays
  • Photon Torpedoes

TALENTS:

  • Ablative Field Projector
  • Improved Shield Recharge

SPECIAL RULE:

As long as an allied ship is within Close Range of an Aegian-class vessel, that allied ship temporarily gains the Improved Shield Recharge Talent. This temporary Talent disappears if the Aegian-class is out of power, has damaged engines (2+ Breaches), or flies out of range.

The Resolution-class was a collaborative project between Hellkite, Jetfreak, and kjc733. It is described as being a “Prometheus-class offspring” that is capable of splitting into two unique sections. Since there weren’t many details beyond that, I had some fun adding some flavor to the Resolution‘s weapons.

SCALE: 4

SYSTEMS:

Comms – 08Engines – 10Structure – 10
Computers – 10Sensors – 09Weapons – 11

DEPARTMENTS:

Command – 00Security – 01Science – 00

WEAPONS:

  • Phaser Arrays
  • Photon Torpedoes
  • Quantum Torpedoes
  • Gravimetric Mines (UP p. 82)

TALENTS:

  • Saucer Separation
  • Secondary Reactors

Those of you that have been following Continuing Mission for a while might wonder: “ELH, didn’t you already stat the Premonition-class?” The answer is yes, I did. However, I decided it would be best to update her stats to reflect the rules presented in Utopia Planitia.

SCALE: 6

That brings the total spaceframes to roll out of the Antares Ship Yard to 7! If you’re interested in submitting your own idea for a spaceframe, use this Google Form to do so. You can also watch me develop these stats live on my Twitch every Wednesday at 8:00 – 9:00 PM EDT (GMT-4)!
