I will make my life easy and just post a portion of the letter Christian sent me. I was going to post these all separately but then got into a time crunch. So worth perusing all of this! Thanks, Christian. You are such a super fan!
“Dear Michael,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to post my Star Trek Adventures starbase fan designs on CM. I don’t know if you remember, but I’ve collaborated with CM before: Colin “Mephit James” Wilson and I prepared my (now obsolete) “Official Ship Measurements” Scale article (see here) as well as my FASA Fleet (First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Groupings) articles, all published last year. Since then, I’ve made a significant number of fanmade starship, shuttlecraft and starbase class write-ups as well as individual class starship PDF sheets in collaboration with Cory Belote, the original designer (see here), and an RPG character sheet designer acquaintance of mine, Chris “Mr. Gone” Leland. I’ve posted about these topics on the Modiphius STA forum here and here if you want further details. (Incidentally, Cory is presently designing a STA/Modiphius-style starbase PDF at my request as I write this.)
A bit about myself: I’m a lawyer, a longtime Star Wars and Star Trek fan, and a tabletop gamer since 1992 with the advent of the 2nd Edition of Vampire: the Masquerade. I’m a fan of the Old World of Darkness games, the Trinity Continuum, Exalted, Star Wars D6, and Pathfinder. I got into Star Trek Adventures in late 2020 and I think the Utopia Planitia sourcebook is a veritable godsend. The UP sourcebook has been incredibly useful for my fan designs of both starships and starbases, so much so that I updated all my old designs with the new formulas from the UP book. Not to mention that having the UP book inspired me to create another couple dozen starship fan designs in the last few months. One might consider it strange to describe an RPG sourcebook as one’s muse, but hey, inspiration is where you find it!
Michael, I’ve attached the individual PDFs of my starbase designs as you asked. I just finished some last-minute proofreading and edits on them to make them presentable. I almost forgot to round the Lotus-class’s Department Point total back down to the maximum of 30. Whoops!
Just so you’re aware, I also have several folders worth in my Google Drive of other STA playing aids that I would like to make available to Continuing Mission if you’re willing. My starship creation folder (41 starship designs and counting) can be found here. My shuttlecraft write-ups can be found here, though I have to mention that I copied and pasted the Overview and Capabilities text of the already published shuttles from the Command Division sourcebook (Type 9 and 10) and Utopia Planitia sourcebook (Types 6, 7, and 8). I cited the sourcebooks in my write-ups, of course, but if there are any plagiarism issues, let me know and I can fix them.
My folder containing the aforementioned Cory Belote-style starship sheet PDFs can be found here. There are several subfolders organized by Star Trek polity and most of the PDFs are pre-statted for the player’s benefit. At present, I have 37 Klingon PDFs, 1 Ferengi PDF, 21 Romulan PDFs, 4 Section 31 PDFs, 20 Federation shuttlecraft PDFs, and 115 Federation starship sheets for a total of 198(!) individual starship class PDFs that Cory, Chris, and I have created over the last year or two. You are free to peruse them all if you like.
Continuing Mission has done so much to support STA that Modiphius wants to give some love back, and so we are pleased to offer this discount code, CMISSION01, which is a 10% off coupon for the STA Starter Set and usable on both the Modiphius UK site and the Modiphius US site.
I’m glad to see that CM now has access to my designs the same way that the Modiphius forums do. Feel free to look around my STA stuff, everyone. Have fun with it!
