On the eve of Star Trek Adventures: Second Edition (the PDF should release tomorrow), we at Continuing Mission have refreshed our look! Our current priority is to go for a cleaner, simplified look and make sure nothing is broken.

We also ran a Facebook poll about what you’d like to see on our site with 2e on the horizon. Here are the results:

  • 17% Mission briefs (2e)
  • 16% More floorplans
  • 11% Tuesdays at Quark’s 1e NPCs updated to 2e
  • 8% Homebrew starships on our site converted to 2e
  • 8% Rule demos 2e
  • 8% Short missions 2e
  • 7% Mission briefs (1e)
  • 5% Conversion guides
  • 4% More new Tuesdays at Quark’s, 1e
  • 4% More Featured Crews
  • 4% More Captain’s Log tables
  • 3% More Featured Starships 1e
  • 3% Short missions 1e
  • 1% More starbase and Space Stations & Outpost Stats
  • 1% All 1e species/talents updated to 2e

So, be on the lookout for Mission Briefs and NPCs in the immediate future, and we’ll scan for more resources out in the wild. What else can you expect? Well, a map of the Taurus Reach (south of the familiar maps in the 1e books), for one: a new region to focus on for a new era; tutorials on Second Edition, and interviews. We’re looking forward to joining you on your continuing mission.

Let us know in the comments below what else you’d like to see, and what era your 2e crew will explore!

Wonderful work, Tony, as always. One note to ALL.
Mission Briefs should not differ between 1e and 2e. They are pretty wide open. Perhaps older mission briefs referenced NPCs in the 1e books, but adapting those stats is easy as pie. (We will be having an episode of Continuing Conversations about that up soon.)

  2. It looks great and I haven’t come across anything that’s broken so far. Its very clean, I like it.

  3. The new look is slick, and I am a fan. Is there an option I’m missing to “browse all” posts beyond (and inclusive of) the newest 8 articles? If there isn’t, could that be added to the feature requests?

    1. There’s an Archive button above the 2e Cover art. Select the year and you can browse to your heart’s content!

      1. Thanks, that’ll work!

We are elated to post your content when its ready! :=)

  5. Oooh, this is lovely and welcome news. Is there a tag/one-click to get to previous Mission Briefs here on the site—I’ve been typing in “Mission Brief” in the search bar, but it’s definitely likely I’ve missed something more obvious if it exists.

    1. The tag clouds are too cluttered, but you can search for mission briefs as you did. It’s the fastest way.

      1. I’ve added a new feature that you can find under the About tab: Tag Cloud (which gets its own page now). It will show the 100 most popular tags, including Mission Briefs, while keeping the layout clean.

      2. Hooray! Thank you! 🙂

  6. I love seeing this site continued to produce content and thrive.

  7. A map of the Taurus Reach in the works — I’m very much looking forward to that!
