Welcome to Starship Sunday, presenting a new spaceframe for the Star Trek Adventures roleplaying game, filling in some gaps until official material can be released.

It’s the Ranger-class this week focusing on a third and final ship pulled from Star Trek Online which were inspired by the design of the Constitution-class starship. (Final for now. The Gemini-class will get its turn eventually.)

For players who want a campaign in the same era as The Original Series but are hoping for a more action packed game fighting Romulans and Gorn, perhaps even engaging in conflicts during the recent war with the Klingons portrayed in Star Trek: Discovery. While the same scale as the Constitution-class, the Ranger is slightly smaller, and captaining such a vessel wouldn’t be a prestigious as commanding one of the dozen elite exploratory vessels. This makes the Ranger a good first or second command, allowing a group to “upgrade” to this class during a campaign or permitting a less experience captain.
