Title Sequence: Persephone

A new title sequence, bridge layout, a spaceframe and a MSD!

The Persephone Class by Walter Milani-Müller is a fantastic homebrew spaceframe of a ship from the Lost Era. When he mentioned that he probably couldn’t get a title sequence done because he had a non-canonical ship design, I stepped in. I’m learning 3D art and animation with Dreams (PS4), and this seemed like a great project. I consulted with him on the build and what his dream title sequence would look like, and here is the grand premiere of his title sequence. He provided the text.

Everything except the title and splicing of the warp at the end was designed in Dreams, using a few game assets from other designers to set the scene and to speed up the art for the Persephone. The music for the Continuing Mission version is a variation on my Sojourner’s Theme, also done in Dreams. I gave Walter a version with the theme song, but can’t post it for copyright reasons.

In addition, I filmed this showcase of the Persephone for those who want to see the details from different angles.

Walter also provided us with the spaceframe, the Deck One layout, and the Master Systems Display (MSD).

Shifts work a little bit differently on a Persephone class starship. There are basically only two shifts that change two times a day every 6 hours. On USS Persephone that’s Alpha 1 from 8 am to 2 pm (morning shift), Beta 1 from 2 pm to 8 pm (afternoon shift), Alpha 2 from 8 pm to 2 am (evening shift), and Beta 2 from 2 am to 8 am (night or “graveyard” shift). CO is in command of Alpha shift, and the XO in command of Beta shift.

Here are some photos of the 3D model.

    1. Walter says Phaser Arrays, Photon Torpedoes, and Tractor Beam (Strength 3). Oldest designs might have Phaser Banks. I’ll edit the main article soon.

    2. Yeah, seems like I forgot those, haven’t I? It should be Phaser Arrays, Photon Torpedoes, and a Tractor Beam (Strength 3), although you could also play the ship with Phaser Banks during the late 2340’s and early to mid 2350’s…
