We’re updating Timeline Milestones (1st edition) for 2nd edition, rebranding them as Canon Event Milestones!

These are events and repercussions in the established timeline that affect your crew. This often is an improvement or other change that affects your game during specific periods of time (or other timelines or alternate realities your campaign may end up in). You can activate these for use if you are in that timeframe.

One major change is that Canon Event (CE) Milestones have 3 components:

• Traits active during the CE; usually 3, and they are invoked when relevant
• Complication Range indicates what conditions result in a Complication Range increase
• Reconfigurations are special rules active for that period.

We will be updating past Timeline Milestones into Canon Event Milestones as well as adding new Canon Event Milestones.

First up, an update of Timeline Milestone: By Inferno’s Light.

Canon Event: By Inferno’s Light (July-December 2373)

The Cardassian Union formally joins the Dominion. This triggers the restoration of the Khitomer Accords. Also, the Maquis are systematically eradicated by the Jem’Hadar during this time. In a few months’ time, the Dominion would take over Deep Space 9. Sisko mined the wormhole at the end of this Timeline Milestone. Next was the start of open war. During this time of growing threat, they secure non-aggression pacts with the Tholian Assembly, the Miradorn, Bajor, and the Romulan Star Empire.

The Canon Event By Inferno’s Light begins on Stardate 50564.2 (July 2373), with the episode “By Inferno’s Light”, and ends on Stardate 50975.2 (December 2373), with the episode “Call to Arms”.

Traits:

• – tensions over looming war
• – the Maquis hunted
• – non-aggression pacts

Complication Range: +1 whenever the Dominion is involved

Reconfigurations: Once during the Canon Event, replace one Ship/Starbase Talent for a GM-approved combat-oriented or crisis support Ship/Starbase Talent (pre-requisites must be met; must be done at a Starbase).
