Mehona Tre, Betazoid Interrogator

Hello and welcome back to another edition of Tuesdays at Quark’s! Once again it’s Mirror Universe May and this time I’m delving into some new faces custom made for the lethal and cruel Mirror Universe.

Jester Dave wrote species write-ups for the Mirror Universe versions of all core rulebook species, including Betazoids. I’ve been intrigued with this possibility ever since reading the Mirror Broken comic series and I wanted to try my hand at making a cruel telepathic interrogator character like Mirror Deanna Troi. This one has a few different twists but she also is as creepy, as duplicitous, or as heartless as you want her to be.

There are a few different directions you can take this character, but here are a few plot hooks to get you started.

  • One of the Player Characters is accused of treason against the Empire and Mehona Tre is called in to question them. The episode plays out as a series of flashbacks to the recent past as the other Player Characters either demonstrate the subject’s innocence in these “memories” or prove their guilt.
  • Mehona Tre is working alongside the Inquisitor Mailys Sault and the crew needs to transport the pair to their next assignment. On the way, though, it starts to seem like Sault is being manipulated by the Betazoid. Who would be directing her to do that, though? And how can they convince her that her trusted interrogator is corrupted?

  1. Wow, this was a fun one.

If you want to give the Captain of a Terran ship a love interest, she can certainly fit the bill.

Glad to see this return to the Mirror Universe, and I look forward to seeing the rest of the entries this month.

  2. for a Prime version of her, you could just tone down her attitude and make her either apart of Starfleet(Security or Medical more like) or Keep her as an independant investigator(I’d like to think along the lines of Constable Odo).

    1. Oh, I *love* the idea of an independent investigator. Constable Odo seemed very much in the gritty noir style of investigator. I think Prime Mehona Tre might be more Agatha Christie, or like a Betazoid Phryne Fisher (accent encouraged)!
