Back today with some more ship combat example and this one is a lot. The U.S.S. Emissary from our example campaign is ambushed by two Jem’Hadar attack ships and the crew has to scramble to keep the situation in hand. Along the way, they demonstrate some true rules mastery for starship combat, one of the most finnicky parts of the game!
This was supposed to come out in February but… you know. Life happens. Regardless, I asked the folks over on the Star Trek Adventures Facebook group what they wanted for the next Example Campaign and the top results were a noncombat ship situation and a bigger battle with more bells and whistles. While I’m still working on the noncombat situation (a little more involved production-wise) today I have a dynamic, complex ship combat for you to look through. This one might have some surprises for even those of us who feel comfortable with ship combat, it certainly sparked fun rules-lawyering with Tony and me!
As a quick note, I’m using the latest ship combat rules as described in my post about the Klingon Empire Core Rulebook changes. These are slightly different than even the latest version of the Star Trek Adventures core rulebook but I’m confident that they will be included soon in official errata. I’m also trying some new things, most notably the voice over narration, following feedback from the last video so let me know what you think of it. I don’t plan to drop the portraits forever but this screen was a little busy with those as well… Anyways, enjoy!
